Open your eyes and ears to these Environmental Problems

environmental problemsIn today’s world, there are a lot of ignorant people. Sorry, but this is quite true. They are ignorant of the environmental problems we face. For instance, we have a growing problem with the trash dump sites becoming overcrowded. Yet, people suggest creating another dump site and burying the trash there. However, that is just holding off the problem for a temporary amount of time.

There are many other problems too besides that one. Expansion onto new lands are killing natural wildlife habitats, as well as cutting down too many trees to put a new coffee shop right there. So, instead of saying do this and that, help out by doing your share by wasting less.

"Lake County, Il is poised to receive a 130-foot monument made entirely of FOAM intended to honor military, police and firefighters.

But the million-dollar, 50,000-pound replica of the Statue of Liberty is being funded by an Internet travel company whose reputation in the industry is less than pristine.

YTB International, an Illinois-based multilevel marketing company, commissioned Griffith-based Beryl Martin to build the 26-ton replica out of dense foam over a metal skeleton and ship the statue to its annual convention in St. Louis next month. Afterward, YTB plans to donate it to Lake County to be used as a memorial."

Critics raise questions on the statue and it's affect on the environment.

I am Stefan with the Ocean Conservancy, and we are very excited about holding out 23rd annual International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday the 20th.
-This is the largest volunteer event of its kind in the world. Last year 378,000 people from 76 countries joined in this global effort.
-Last year we worked together to clean up 6 million pounds of trash from our planet's oceans and waterways.
We hope you can contribute to making this year an even bigger success. For more information visit www.oceanconservancy.org
