Environmental Impact Report From Arctic Council Block By U.S. Government
Apparently, at the request of the United States Government, recent environmental impact reports coming from the Arctic Council in regards to oil and natural gas extraction have been blocked. It looks as though the U.S. does not want that information to go public for various reasons. However, it is safe to assume that the resources recently documented by the Arctic Council scientists are not going to be used up any time in the near future.Hopefully, collaborative efforts will be made around the world to help produce more fuel-efficient vehicles so that we can slow down the massive consumption of this important resource. Unfortunately, some previous efforts were not supported such as the short-lived EV1 battery powered vehicle from GM, but that was just one battle among many.
At www.amap.no/oga you can take a look at the Oil and Gas Assessment report from 2007 but if I am not mistaken then this report is old news. The recent assessment, which was blocked, cannot be found at this website. Why do you think the U.S. Government wanted to keep that information from going public?
